About Bruce M.
Bruce M. Bounds built his legal foundation at Lake Forest College, where he studied government and history and earned a B.A. in 1967. He went on to earn a J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1970. Later he pursued additional study in commercial law at Temple University Beasley School of Law and earned a Dean’s Certificate in Commercial Law. Those academic steps set the stage for a practice that spans several state and federal jurisdictions.
Bounds’ career has included admission to practice in Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Florida and New York. That multi-jurisdictional credentialing has allowed him to handle matters that cross state lines and to advise clients whose legal needs reach beyond a single court system. He has also been active in the legal community in Coral Gables, serving on the Coral Gables Bar Association board as a director beginning in 2001 and later as president during 2011–2012. Those leadership roles placed him at the center of local bar programming and member services for the association.
Colleagues describe Bounds as methodical and steady in the courtroom and at the negotiating table. His coursework and certificate in commercial law inform how he approaches business disputes and contract issues. He has maintained a practice that draws on that training while also relying on his admissions in four jurisdictions to provide broader coverage for clients. In Coral Gables and elsewhere he has been a regular participant in bar events and governance, an involvement that has kept him connected to both younger lawyers and established practitioners.
Bounds practices from Bounds Law Offices. He has long balanced transactional work and litigation, often addressing commercial questions that require knowledge of multiple state rules and procedures. The combination of a liberal arts undergraduate degree, a J.D. from Emory and specialized commercial law study at Temple shapes how he evaluates risk and crafts solutions. He continues to handle matters that reflect that background, concentrating on commercial law and related civil matters across the jurisdictions in which he is admitted.
