About Bruce J.

Bruce J. Levitz built his professional foundation at the University of Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1979 in Human Behavior & Institutions. He moved to law school two years later, completing a Juris Doctor at Golden Gate University Law School in 1982 with an emphasis on litigation and trial practice. Decades into his career he pursued additional training in commercial real estate, completing coursework in 2008 that covered commercial real estate analysis, market analysis, lease analysis, and transactional analysis through a certified commercial investment program.

After law school, Levitz entered practice at a time when courtroom experience still shaped reputations. His early legal education emphasized trial skills and litigation strategy. That background informed the way he handled disputes and courtroom matters. Over time he layered other subject matter onto that base, adding transactional and analytical tools related to commercial property.

Levitz’s move into commercial real estate study in 2008 marked a shift in the range of matters he could address. The training he completed included market and lease analysis as well as transactional analysis. Those topics broadened the kinds of clients and assignments he could take on. He combined litigation instincts with an understanding of real estate metrics, which affected how he advised clients on leases, property transactions and related disputes.

Colleagues describe Levitz as methodical in his approach to both litigation and deal work. He favors careful review of documents and a steady pace in developing positions. His classroom and courtroom foundations show in how he prepares for a trial or structures an agreement. He has navigated cases and commercial matters that require both factual clarity and legal precision.

Outside of formal credentials, Levitz’s career reflects an interest in how institutions and human behavior intersect with law. That interest dates back to his undergraduate studies and appears to have shaped the practical choices he made in practice. It also informed his later decision to obtain commercial real estate analysis training as marketplaces and transactions grew more complex.

Today Levitz maintains a practice that combines litigation and commercial real estate work, advising clients on disputes, leases and transactional matters while drawing on decades of legal experience.
