About Bruce

Bruce Boerst is an attorney who built his practice after completing a multi-step academic path that led him to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Pre-Law from Ohio University in 2002. He then attended the University of Dayton School of Law and received a Juris Doctor in 2008. Those years shaped his early interest in courtroom work and community involvement.

He began practicing law while still gaining experience in established firms. In 2007 he worked at Behnke, Martin & Schulte, LLC, where he handled matters as an associate attorney. Two years later he began operating The Boerst Law Office, Inc., taking on the responsibilities of running a small practice while continuing client representation. The transition to his own firm marked a move toward managing both casework and the business side of legal practice.

Boerst is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the Federal Circuit. Since 2008 he has been active in professional groups. He holds membership in the Ohio Bar Association and the Toledo Bar Association and is listed with the Ohio Association of Justice (formerly known broadly as the state’s association of trial lawyers). Beyond bar activities, he serves on community boards. He is a current board member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and participates on an AW Board at the YMCA of Greater Toledo. Those roles have kept him connected to civic organizations and local needs.

His practice centers on litigation and courtroom representation. He represents clients in state courts across Ohio and in appropriate federal forums. He manages cases through pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation while overseeing the practical operations of his office. Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who balances file work and firm administration; clients turn to him for direct handling of matters rather than for referral to other counsel.

Boerst’s public and professional memberships have run in parallel with his practice. He has maintained continuous membership in state and local bar groups since 2008 and stayed engaged in nonprofit governance. He remains based at The Boerst Law Office, Inc., where he continues to represent clients in civil litigation matters in Ohio and in federal courts.
