About Brooke H.
Brooke H. Unruh took a traditional path into law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Kansas State University in 2001 and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2005. Those credentials began a career that has moved between in-house practice and running her own firms.
Her first notable private-sector role listed was as a lawyer at Chesapeake Energy in 2010. That position placed her inside the energy industry at a time of rapid change. She spent years handling matters that required both legal detail and practical business judgment.
In 2014 she became a founding partner of Dovedan, McMillin & Unruh, PLLC. That step marked her shift back to private practice and brought experience managing a law firm. Seven years later she opened a new shop under her own name and now serves as owner and lawyer at Brooke H. Unruh, PLLC, a firm she established in 2021.
Unruh is authorized to practice in both Oklahoma and Wyoming. Her bar memberships include the Wyoming Bar Association, which she has maintained since 2019, and longstanding professional ties in Oklahoma. Her professional network also reaches the landman community; she holds membership in the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen dating from 2010.
Outside day-to-day practice she has taken on board roles in local organizations. Since 2022 she has served on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau of Central Oklahoma. She joined the Board of Directors for Oklahoma Indian Legal Services in 2021 and also joined the board of Tenaciously Teal that same year. Beginning in 2019 she became an ambassador for the Polished Network — OKC, and she belongs to WealthCounsel as a member, also since 2019. These roles reflect an interest in civic and professional engagement as part of a broader legal career.
Colleagues describe her work as practical and matter-of-fact. Her career has included corporate legal work, firm leadership and solo practice. She handles transactions and issues tied to energy and land matters through a practical lens, informed by in-house experience and years in private practice. Brooke H. Unruh currently practices from her firm, Brooke H. Unruh, PLLC, handling matters for clients in Oklahoma and Wyoming and related professional work in the region.
