About Britt

Britt Springer earned her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2003 after receiving a B.A. from Appalachian State University in 1998. Her academic record places her at two institutions that shaped her early legal thinking. The University of Oregon provided the formal legal training; Appalachian State supplied the liberal arts foundation that preceded it.

Springer began her professional career in 2003 as a prosecutor at a District Lawyer's Office. She served in that office as prosecutor and later as chief prosecutor, a role that required managing cases, overseeing courtroom strategy and coordinating with law enforcement. Those early years in public service gave her extensive courtroom experience and a clear sense of how cases progress from initial charging decisions to trial and appeal.

In 2014 she joined the Appalachian Law Center as a lawyer. The move marked a shift from public prosecution to practice within a regional legal clinic environment. At the law center she has handled a range of matters tied to the courts and the local community. Colleagues describe her as methodical in her preparation and direct in court. Her background in prosecution often informs how she frames procedural arguments and prepares witnesses, though she now approaches cases from the perspective required by her clients.

She is licensed to practice in North Carolina and has maintained active membership in professional associations. Her career blends courtroom experience and client work in the same region where she completed her undergraduate studies. Springer currently practices at Appalachian Law Center, representing clients in matters before North Carolina courts.
