About Brian
Brian Zimmet trained first as a manager and then as a lawyer. He earned a B.A. in Management from Syracuse University, completing his degree in 1989, and a J.D. from Touro College School of Law in 1992. Those credentials set the stage for a career practiced on both sides of the Hudson.
After law school he entered private practice and by 2003 was working at Zimmet Bieber LLP. That role placed him in the rhythms of firm life: client meetings, court calendars and the steady demands of case preparation. Over time he moved from associate responsibilities into leadership duties and eventually helped organize his own firm.
He is a founding partner of Zimmet Law Group P.C. The firm bears his name and reflects a transition from working inside another firm to running one. Running a firm has meant juggling management tasks and legal work. It has also meant setting priorities for staffing and case intake that align with how he believes legal services should be delivered.
Zimmet is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. He has handled matters that required appearances in the courts of both states and has experience interacting with opposing counsel, judges and administrative bodies. Colleagues describe him as steady under pressure and practical in approach. Clients have relied on him for case strategy, preparation for hearings and negotiation of outcomes outside of court.
Across his career he has balanced casework with the demands of building a practice. He has worked on files that move quickly and on others that require long-term attention. He continues to practice at Zimmet Law Group P.C., representing clients in matters in both New Jersey and New York. His current practice focuses on serving individuals and businesses in state-level matters across those jurisdictions.
