About Brian

Brian Victor trained in psychology before he trained in law. He earned a B.A. in Psychology and Education from the University of California, Davis in 1987. He then completed an M.S. in Clinical and Community Psychology at California State University, Long Beach in 1991. After years working in social services, he returned to school and received his J.D. from Concord Law School in 2004.

His professional life moves between social services and the courtroom. In the mid-1990s he worked as a senior protective services worker for the County of San Diego Child Protective Services. He later served as a Family Court Recommending Counselor and mediator for Family Court Services at the Superior Court of San Diego beginning in 2001. After law school he gained experience in elder law as a legal intern with Elder Law and Advocacy Legal Services in 2008. He taught as an adjunct professor at the University of the Rockies in 2011. The next year he served as managing lawyer at Edmunds Law Office. By 2013 he was practicing family law under the name Law Offices of Brian A. Victor.

Those early years in child protective services and family court shaped the kinds of matters he handles now. He draws on psychological training when working with custody evaluations and parenting plans. He has experience in mediation and in court-based recommending counseling. His background includes elder law exposure and hands-on child welfare investigations, which inform custody and dependency cases. He is a member of the San Diego Bar Association and the San Diego Family Law Bar Association. Those memberships place him in the local professional networks that handle family law practice in the region.

Colleagues describe his approach as practical and grounded in procedure. He has managed office operations and taught law students and other professionals, which adds a classroom-to-practice sensibility to his work. His time in various roles — from protective services worker to managing lawyer — gives him familiarity with both administrative and courtroom settings. That range can matter when cases involve social services records, expert testimony, or complex custody dynamics.

He established the Law Offices of Brian A. Victor to work directly with clients in family law matters. He remains based in San Diego and continues to handle cases involving custody, visitation, support, and related family law issues. He currently practices at the Law Offices of Brian A. Victor, handling family law matters.
