About Brian

Brian Thackston began his academic journey in the Baltimore region. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2006. He later enrolled at the University of Baltimore School of Law, attending from 2012 and earning his J.D. in 2016. Those years at UMBC and the University of Baltimore established a local perspective he has kept throughout his career.

After law school, Thackston remained in Maryland to start his legal career. He built experience working on matters that arise under state law and became familiar with Maryland's courts and procedures. He has represented clients in a range of settings and handled the kinds of day-to-day legal work that keeps a practice moving — filings, client counseling, court appearances and negotiations.

Colleagues describe his approach as practical and detail-oriented. He prefers clear explanations over legalese. He writes to be understood. He prepares documents carefully and aims to give clients a realistic sense of options and likely outcomes. That steadiness informs how he manages matters and interacts with opposing counsel and judges.

Thackston has worked on both contested and transactional matters. He balances courtroom preparation with efforts to resolve disputes before trial when appropriate. He also spends time on preventive work that helps clients avoid future problems. His practice reflects a steady familiarity with Maryland law rather than a pursuit of publicity or headline cases.

He joined Frost Law to continue practicing in the state where he trained and began his career. At Frost Law he handles a variety of matters for individuals and businesses. He is a practical presence in the office and a resource for clients seeking clear, usable legal guidance. He remains based in Maryland and focuses his professional activity on state law issues.

He currently practices at Frost Law, handling matters in Maryland state law.
