About Brian P.
Brian P. Kirwin trained as a lawyer at The Catholic University of America, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1987 and earned his J.D. in 1990. Those years of study placed him squarely in the world of courts and legal argument. He carried that foundation into a career that spans both state and federal practice.
After law school Kirwin began work in matters that required attention at both trial and appellate levels. Over time he built experience appearing in Florida courts and in federal appellate forums. He is admitted to practice in Florida and is authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit, which has shaped much of his courtroom and appellate work.
Kirwin’s practice covers representation in litigation and appellate proceedings. He has handled cases that moved between state trial dockets and federal appeals, giving him a perspective on how trial strategy and appellate briefing intersect. He prepares pleadings, argues motions, and drafts appellate briefs, and he has worked on matters that required coordination across different courts and procedural regimes.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing a case and deliberate in oral argument. He tends to favor careful legal analysis and attention to procedural detail. Those qualities are often put to use when translating a trial record into issues suitable for appellate review. His background in appellate practice has made him comfortable handling complex briefing schedules and preserving issues through trial for the appellate phase.
Kirwin joined the firm Kirwin Norris, P.A., where he continues to represent clients in Florida and before federal appellate courts. He works on cases that move through trial courts and toward appeals, providing continuity for clients who need representation across multiple stages of litigation. He also coordinates filings and oral argument work in the D.C. Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit when appeals arise from Florida matters.
He remains based in Florida and continues to practice law at Kirwin Norris, P.A., handling litigation and appellate matters in state and federal courts.
