About Brian
Brian Nigohosian earned his Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University in 1982 and his Juris Doctor from John Marshall School of Law in 1986. Those years mark the start of a professional life rooted in Illinois courts and local bar life. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and has maintained steady involvement in the state's legal community.
He moved from law school into practice during a period of significant change in family and civil law. Over the decades he has balanced courtroom work, client counseling and bar association activity. His resume of professional memberships suggests sustained engagement rather than a brief spell in politics or one narrow niche. He has remained active in county-level bar associations and statewide professional programs.
Memberships have played a sizable role in his career. He is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association and has served as a presenter for the DCBA’s Family Law Committee. That role put him in front of other attorneys discussing procedural and substantive family law topics. He also holds memberships in the Kane County Bar Association and the Armenian Bar Association. Since 2012 he has been part of the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism Mentoring Program, taking part in efforts to guide newer lawyers and to encourage ethical practice.
Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in professional settings. He has made recurring contributions to local bar activities rather than seeking statewide leadership headlines. His work as a Family Law Committee presenter points to regular involvement in family law issues, whether in contested court matters or in settlement discussions. The mentoring program participation indicates an interest in developing the next generation of practitioners and in promoting professional standards.
He balances casework and community engagement. Presenting to committees, participating in county bar events and serving in mentorship roles have kept him connected to the day-to-day developments in Illinois law. That connection helps inform how he advises clients and prepares for hearings.
He currently practices law in Illinois and remains active in family law education and the state mentoring program.
