About Brian Michael

Brian Michael Walsh is an attorney admitted to practice in Florida and the District of Columbia and admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. He built a professional path shaped by study in both law and tax. He now serves as a managing partner at Walsh Banks Law, a role he assumed in 2010.

Walsh began his academic journey at Kings College, where he completed a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Political Science in 2000. He went on to earn a J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2003. He added an LL.M. in Federal Income Tax from the University of Miami School of Law, completed in 2004, a credential that informs much of his legal work.

His career moved into practice and firm leadership. In 2010 he became managing partner at Walsh Banks Law. That position places him at the intersection of client work and firm management. He oversees the business of the firm while maintaining an active caseload. Admission to the U.S. Supreme Court also indicates he has met the procedural and professional requirements to appear before the nation’s highest court.

Walsh’s training in federal income tax steers a significant portion of his practice toward tax matters. He advises on issues that require an understanding of federal tax rules and their application to business and individual situations. The combination of a tax LL.M. and admission in multiple jurisdictions allows him to handle cross-jurisdictional questions that arise in federal tax planning and disputes.

Colleagues describe him as practical and methodical in client matters. He balances client counseling with the administrative demands of running a firm. Casework and client engagements are managed alongside broader strategic decisions for the practice. He has continued to maintain his licenses in Florida and the District of Columbia while guiding the firm’s operations.

Walsh teaches some of the lessons of practice through daily work rather than formal classroom posts, shaping younger lawyers inside the firm as they take on tax and regulatory assignments. He remains active in client representation and in managing firm affairs. He currently practices tax and related business law at Walsh Banks Law.
