About Brian M
Brian M Cremeans built his legal foundation in classrooms and courtrooms across Ohio. He earned a J.D. from Charlotte School of Law in 2014 after completing undergraduate work in history at Ohio University. Those years shaped his approach to evidence and procedure and set the stage for a steady local practice.
His earliest legal experience came as a 2012 intern at Physician s Choice Laboratory Services, a role that exposed him to medical and forensic issues that often arise in criminal cases. After law school he joined McCown & Fisher, LPA as an associate in 2014. He stayed through the firm’s growth and its evolution into McCown, Fisher & Cremeans, LPA, becoming a partner in 2024.
In 2024 he also served as an acting judge for the Lawrence County Municipal Court. The temporary bench appointment placed him in the role of factfinder and sentence-setter for a range of misdemeanor and traffic matters. The experience broadened his perspective on courtroom dynamics and on the responsibilities judges shoulder in smaller jurisdictions.
Cremeans’s training centers on impaired-driving and roadside procedures. He holds certification as a Field Sobriety Practitioner and as an ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement) Practitioner from the National College for DUI Defense. He is also a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing instructor certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Those credentials inform both his trial work and his instruction of officers and nonlawyers on testing protocols.
Throughout his career he has handled client work that touches on laboratory evidence, traffic enforcement, and criminal procedure. He has represented clients in hearings and trials, and he has taken part in pretrial negotiations and evidentiary hearings. Colleagues say he brings a methodical approach to case preparation and an emphasis on cross-examination when scientific or technical evidence is at issue.
Cremeans has been a member of the Lawrence County Bar Association since 2015. He maintains ties to the local legal community through bar events and court practice. Outside the courthouse he has remained engaged in the practical teaching of officers and attorneys on roadside testing standards.
He currently practices at McCown, Fisher & Cremeans, LPA, handling criminal defense and DUI matters.
