About Brian L.

Brian L. Bennett began his academic journey at Pennsylvania State University, University Park, where he earned a B.A. in psychology in 1992. He went on to law school at Valparaiso University School of Law, completing his J.D. in 2007. During his legal studies he worked across criminal and family law courses and took on general practice matters that would inform the mix of cases he handles today.

He practices in Indiana and is admitted to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Early in his career he moved into private practice and eventually established his own firm, the Law Office of Brian L. Bennett, P.C. Over time he has handled cases at trial and on appeal, and has represented clients in a range of contested matters.

Bennett’s professional affiliations reflect the strands of his work. He is active in the Porter County Bar Association and the Indiana Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Association of Premier DUI Lawyers and Phi Delta Phi. His membership in the Council of Parent Lawyers and Advocates (COPPA) signals an interest in cases that touch on families and education, and it complements his family law practice.

His practice covers criminal defense, family law, and general civil matters. He has represented clients in DUI-related proceedings and has handled appellate filings and arguments in the Seventh Circuit. Colleagues describe him as a practitioner who moves between courtroom work and legal research, preparing cases for trial while also reviewing records for potential appeals. He balances advocacy in state courts with appellate work when cases require further review.

At the Law Office of Brian L. Bennett, P.C., he manages client intake, case strategy, and courtroom representation. He works from initial charging decisions through trial and, where appropriate, appellate proceedings. He handles a steady docket of criminal and family law matters and represents clients in related civil disputes. He currently handles criminal defense, family law, and appellate matters in Indiana.
