About Brian
Brian Goodwin built his career at the intersection of street-level policing and courtroom work. He began as a detective in Revere and later moved into prosecutorial roles before opening his own practice. The shift from uniform to suit is a through line in his work.
Goodwin earned a B.S. in Law Enforcement from Western New England College in 2002. He went on to receive a J.D. from Suffolk University, studying International Law while in law school. He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and has been a member of the Massachusetts State Bar since 2005.
His professional life began in law enforcement. In 1995 he served as a detective with the Revere Police Department. That experience on the ground gave him a practical view of investigations and evidence handling. In 2005 he joined the Suffolk County District Lawyer's Office as an Assistant District Lawyer, where he handled prosecutions and courtroom proceedings. Two years later he became a partner at Goodwin Sichau, P.C., a role that added private practice and firm management to his résumé.
Over time Goodwin moved to solo practice. He now runs the Law Office of Brian Goodwin. His background crosses the traditional lines between investigator, prosecutor and private attorney. He has handled investigations, pretrial work and trials. His approach tends to reflect familiarity with police procedure and prosecutorial strategy, applied on behalf of clients in court.
Colleagues and clients describe him as practical and direct. He favors proven courtroom practices and prepares cases to be litigated if necessary. He has worked in municipal and county settings and is familiar with the Massachusetts criminal justice system at multiple levels. That range of experience informs how he evaluates evidence, interviews witnesses and frames legal arguments.
Outside the courtroom he remains connected to the broader legal community through the Massachusetts State Bar. He maintains his practice in Massachusetts and handles matters that require both an investigative eye and courtroom experience. He currently operates the Law Office of Brian Goodwin and focuses his practice on criminal matters in Massachusetts.
