About Brian F.

Brian F. Garmo built his path to law on a foundation in English and a law degree from Wayne State. He earned a B.A. in English from Wayne State University in 2004 and continued at Wayne State University Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2007. The combination of a humanities undergraduate degree and a professional legal education shaped the clear writing and attention to detail he brings to legal work.

After law school, Garmo began practicing in Michigan. Over the years he added professional qualifications beyond the bar. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Michigan and holds certification as a civil mediator from the Michigan State Court Administrative Office. Those credentials allow him to handle transactional matters on the real estate side and to serve as a neutral in court-annexed and private mediations.

Garmo’s memberships in local and national bar groups reflect a steady involvement in the profession. He is a current member of the State Bar of Michigan and participates in both the Macomb County and Oakland County bar associations. He also maintains membership in the American Bar Association. These affiliations keep him engaged with developments in Michigan law and with colleagues across practice areas.

His practice has combined transactional work and dispute resolution. As a licensed real estate broker he assists clients with property deals and related contractual matters. As a civil mediator he oversees negotiated settlements and helps parties find practical resolutions to contested matters. Colleagues and clients encounter him in real estate closings, contract discussions and mediation sessions rather than in courtroom-only litigation scenes.

Garmo practices at Garmo & Kiste, PLC. There he works with clients on real estate transactions, contract issues and mediated dispute resolution in Michigan. He handles matters that require both an understanding of property markets and the procedural mechanics of mediation. His day-to-day work involves drafting and reviewing agreements, advising on real estate concerns and conducting mediation sessions under rules used in Michigan courts.

He remains active in bar association activities and continues to serve as a resource for clients and other lawyers on real estate and mediation matters. His current practice focuses on real estate transactions and civil mediation in Michigan.
