About Brian
Brian Dumeer built his legal life on steady progression and local roots. He entered law school after a political science degree and moved quickly from student to practitioner. His career has stayed centered in New England, where he practices in both Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Dumeer earned his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2009. He completed his undergraduate studies in political science at Roger Williams University in 2006. Those years provided classroom training and hands-on legal exposure that shaped his early choices about practice and service.
While still in law school he took on an internship at the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office in 2008. That position gave him a close look at public law practice and the mechanics of state government litigation. The following year he moved into private practice. In 2010 he became a partner at Carlson & Dumeer, LLC, a role he has held since then. The firm affiliation has anchored his work and provided a base for litigation and client counseling across state lines.
Dumeer holds memberships in the Massachusetts Bar Association, recorded as of 2009, and the Connecticut Bar Association, recorded as of 2010. He is licensed to practice in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Those dual jurisdictions shape the kinds of matters he accepts and the procedural rules he navigates on behalf of clients.
Outside the courtroom he has stayed involved in community and institutional boards. He serves on the Middlesex Community College Foundation Board and has taken a lead role in its fundraising activities. He chaired the foundation’s fundraising committee in 2013 and remains active on the board. That work reflects sustained involvement in regional education philanthropy and institutional support.
Colleagues describe Dumeer as steady and practical in his approach to cases. He has combined public-sector experience from the Attorney General’s Office with long-term private practice at Carlson & Dumeer, LLC. That mix informs how he evaluates risk, prepares litigation, and advises clients on procedural strategy. He accepts matters in Connecticut and Massachusetts and handles the logistical and substantive demands of cross-jurisdiction practice.
He currently practices at Carlson & Dumeer, LLC, handling legal matters across Connecticut and Massachusetts.
