About Brian B.
Brian B. Winegar blends training in law, public health and the humanities. He took a nontraditional route to the courtroom. That background shapes how he approaches complex cases and evidence.
Winegar earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Philosophy from Boston College in 2001. He then pursued public health at Columbia University, receiving an MPH in 2006. He returned to Texas to study law and completed his J.D. at the University of Houston in 2011. Those three degrees inform a methodical, detail-oriented approach to legal work.
Before finishing law school he worked in public health. In 2006 he served as a Regional Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Texas Department of State Health Services. The role placed him in operational planning and coordination for regional responses to public health threats. The experience gave him familiarity with emergency systems, interagency cooperation and regulatory frameworks.
His legal career includes time at Perdue & Kidd, LLP, where he served as an associate beginning in 2010. He moved into litigation practice and has worked on matters that proceed toward trial. He is admitted to practice in Texas and participates in local and state bar activities.
Winegar belongs to several professional organizations that reflect his trial work. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. He is also active in the Houston Bar Association. Those memberships connect him with peers who handle jury trials and complex civil litigation.
Colleagues describe him as analytical and thorough in courtroom preparation. He draws on public health training when cases involve scientific or regulatory questions. He approaches fact development and expert testimony with attention to systems and standards.
Today he practices in Texas at Perdue & Kidd, LLP. His practice centers on civil trial litigation and matters that require preparation for jury proceedings.
