About Brett T.

Brett T. Williamson built his legal foundation at Butler University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2002, majoring in History and English. He went on to receive his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2005. Those years shaped his approach to legal work: careful reading, attention to precedent and an interest in how rules are applied in practical settings.

Williamson's early resume lists a role at Bollinger, Ruberry & Garvey as an insurance coverage associate. That experience exposed him to the insurance side of disputes and the document-driven work that insurance matters often require. By 2006 he is recorded as serving as a lawyer at The Stogsdill Law Office, the firm where he has continued his practice.

He is licensed to practice in Illinois and participates in multiple bar associations across the state and region. His memberships include the DuPage, Will and Lake County Bar Associations, as well as the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Bar Association. Outside the state associations he is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, reflecting an interest in the legal issues that touch athletics and related industries.

One notable public role is his service on the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) Hearing Board. Serving on a hearing board places a lawyer in a quasi-judicial role. It requires the ability to evaluate competing factual accounts, apply professional standards and render decisions that affect other lawyers’ standing. He continues to serve in that capacity.

Colleagues and clients find him precise in document work and steady in hearings. He handles matters that range from insurance coverage questions to disputes that require evidentiary presentation. His background includes both defense-side insurance matters and general civil litigation tasks, giving him familiarity with how liability and coverage interact.

At The Stogsdill Law Office P.C., Williamson practices as part of a small-firm environment where case management and client communication are regular parts of the day. He represents individuals and entities in state matters and appears in proceedings that demand factual development and legal analysis.

Outside the office he stays engaged with local bar organizations. That engagement keeps him current on practice developments and procedural changes in Illinois courts. He currently concentrates his practice on civil litigation and insurance-related matters.
