Brett M. Godfrey is a seasoned trial attorney with over 35 years of experience, specializing in personal injury, business law, employment law, products liability, communications and internet law, construction law, and energy, oil, and gas law. He is the founder of Godfrey Law, P.C., located at 7212 Skygazer St, Castle Pines, Colorado. The firm handles a diverse range of cases, including complex commercial disputes, product liability, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice. Construction defects. Mr. Godfrey earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1987.

Prior to his legal career, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1983. His engineering background has been instrumental in his legal practice, particularly in cases involving complex scientific and technical issues. Admitted to practice in Colorado since 1987, Mr. Godfrey is also licensed in Wyoming, Texas, and Pennsylvania. He has served as lead counsel in over 98 jury trials across the United States, handling cases in state and federal courts. His appellate experience includes post-trial and interlocutory appeals in areas such as product liability, insurance coverage, bad faith, legal malpractice, and class actions. He has also handled litigation in England, Scotland, South Africa, China, the Seychelles Islands, Canada, and Mexico, coordinating high-stakes multinational litigation.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Godfrey has a notable background in aviation and military service. A former U.S. Air Force officer and pilot, he holds multiengine and instrument ratings and has logged over 600 hours in all-weather IFR operations. His aviation experience includes handling air crash cases, representing pilots in Federal Aviation Administration actions, and participating in civilian and military air crash investigations. He has also logged over 2,000 skydives and was a competitive parachute jumper for five years. Mr.

Godfrey has been recognized for his legal expertise and contributions to the profession. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Rating System, the highest attorney rating available. He was first listed by Denver’s 5280 Magazine as a Top Colorado Super Lawyer in 2006 and has remained on the list through 2026. He has also been recognized by Law Week Colorado as the "Best Commercial Litigator" in 2015. Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Godfrey is an active member of several professional associations, including the American, Colorado, Denver, and Wyoming Bar Associations, the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association, and the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and has been involved in various charitable activities, including fundraising for Habitat for Humanity and the Denver Children’s Home.
