About Brent M.

Brent M. Christensen earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Bradley University in 1984 and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1993. He balanced a traditional liberal arts foundation with professional legal training. The combination informs both his courtroom approach and his written advocacy.

He began practicing law the year he graduated. In 1993 he opened the Law Offices of Brent M. Christensen and started handling criminal matters that came through Illinois courts. Early in his career he built practical courtroom experience and developed a caseload centered on misdemeanors and felonies that intersected with impaired-driving issues.

Shortly after establishing his practice, he also served in the United States Naval Reserve. In 1995 he held the rank of Petty Officer. That period added a layer of public service to his resume and exposed him to military justice and administrative procedures.

Christensen is admitted to practice in Illinois and has secured the credentials to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect a willingness to pursue appeals when cases require review beyond the trial court.

Over the years his work has concentrated on criminal defense, with a significant portion devoted to driving-under-the-influence matters. He handles standard DUI cases as well as those involving heightened penalties or complex evidentiary issues. Clients come to him for representation at arraignments, pretrial hearings, and trial, and for counsel through sentencing or post-conviction steps when necessary.

He runs a small law office that manages cases through all stages of the criminal process. The practice remains lean by design; cases typically receive direct attorney attention rather than being passed through layers of staff. That approach shapes how he prepares for court and how he communicates with clients.

In courtrooms across Illinois he continues to represent individuals charged with DUI and related offenses. He also takes appeals when a case presents issues suitable for higher courts. He currently practices as a DUI defense lawyer.
