About Brent
Brent Dishman attended the United States Air Force Academy, where he studied aircraft maintenance. That technical background shaped his early interests and informed his later work in military law. He then earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma, completing the training that prepared him for practice at both civilian and military tribunals.
After law school he pursued admissions that reflect an unusual mix of jurisdictions. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and the Tenth Circuit. He also holds admission in all military courts and before the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allow him to represent clients at trial, on appeal, and in specialized military proceedings.
Dishman founded Dishman Military Advocates and serves as its owner. He established the firm to concentrate on matters that affect service members and veterans. The practice handles courts-martial, administrative actions, and appellate work in military and federal forums. He combines knowledge of military procedures with courtroom experience in civil and appellate litigation.
His work often involves advising clients on rights and remedies available under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and related regulations. He prepares defense strategies for enlisted personnel and officers, and he handles post-trial litigation when necessary. In appellate matters he pursues relief through service-level appellate courts and federal courts where appropriate.
Colleagues describe his approach as methodical and direct. He tends to break complex regulatory and evidentiary issues into clear arguments. That approach can be important when cases involve technical military records or nuanced procedural rules. He also spends time explaining options to clients so they understand the stakes and the steps ahead.
Today he leads Dishman Military Advocates from its practice base. His admissions enable him to take cases in military courts, in the Tenth Circuit, in Oklahoma, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He currently practices military law and represents service members in courts-martial, administrative proceedings, and appeals.
