About Brent

Brent Bowden earned his law degree from Vermont Law School in 2011 after completing an undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Washington in 2006. His academic path combined a liberal arts foundation and professional legal training. He entered the legal field equipped to handle municipal and private practice settings.

After law school, Bowden moved into public service. In 2013 he served as an Assistant City Lawyer for the City of Seattle. In that role he handled legal matters for a large municipal client and worked alongside in-house counsel on day-to-day issues that affect city operations and public programs. The position gave him firsthand experience with the pace and priorities of government practice.

Bowden transitioned from municipal work into private practice in the years that followed. He joined Purcell Legal & Mediation Services, PLLC in 2016 and later worked at Genesis Law Office, PLLC beginning in 2018. In 2021 he became part of Gillin Law Group, PLLC. Those positions expanded his exposure to client representation and the business side of running a law practice. He has experience filing documents, arguing matters before tribunals, and advising on procedural and substantive questions.

Over the course of his career Bowden has balanced public-sector responsibilities with private-law practice. That mix has given him perspective on how government decisions intersect with individual and corporate concerns. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing a file and practical when presenting options to clients. He approaches matters by focusing on the facts and applicable law.

Bowden is licensed to practice in Washington and maintains an active presence in the state’s legal community. He holds professional memberships and keeps current on developments that affect his clients. He has worked across a range of legal contexts and continues to build on his municipal and private-practice experience.

He currently practices law at Gillin Law Group, PLLC in Washington, where he represents clients on a variety of legal matters for both individuals and organizations. His current practice involves representing clients and addressing legal issues arising in Washington.
