About Brandon

Brandon Lauer earned his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2018 after beginning his legal studies in 2015. He graduated amid a period of change in legal education, and he moved quickly from the classroom into the practical demands of practicing law in Minnesota. His time in law school included the usual mix of doctrinal coursework and clinic-style experience that prepares many new lawyers for courtroom work.

After law school, Lauer established a practice in Minnesota. He is licensed to practice in the state and built a caseload that centers on criminal defense. Early on he handled a range of matters, representing clients at initial appearances and through case resolution. Over time his work expanded to include both misdemeanor and felony matters, and he developed a routine that balances client contact, negotiation, and courtroom preparation.

Lauer’s approach to cases is straightforward. He evaluates charges, explains options to clients, and pursues resolution strategies that respond to the facts of each matter. He spends time preparing for hearings and, when necessary, trial. He also deals with pretrial motions and post-conviction issues when they arise. Colleagues describe him as careful with legal research and attentive to client concerns.

Participation in professional groups has been part of Lauer’s practice life. He is a current member of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, an organization that brings defense lawyers together for training and advocacy. That membership places him among peers who regularly discuss developments in criminal law and procedure across the state.

Lauer operates The Law Office of Brandon Lauer. The firm handles a steady flow of criminal matters for people charged in Minnesota courts. He runs a small office model that allows for direct client contact and individualized case handling. Court appearances, negotiation sessions, and client meetings make up much of his calendar.

Outside the courtroom he continues to follow legal developments in Minnesota criminal law and attends events that sharpen practical skills. He has not publicly listed academic posts or bar leadership roles. He remains based in Minnesota and continues to represent clients in criminal matters. He currently focuses his practice on criminal defense in Minnesota.
