About Brady Douglas
Brady Douglas Williams earned his undergraduate degree at Baylor University before returning to Waco for a law degree at Baylor Law School. Those years at Baylor shaped his legal foundation. He studied courtroom procedure and legal writing, and left law school prepared to practice in multiple jurisdictions.
He is admitted to practice in both California and Texas. His memberships are current with the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Texas. He is also admitted to several federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. That combination of state and federal admissions means he can take matters into both state courts and federal benches when cases call for it.
Williams has practiced at Van Wey, Metzler & Williams. His work there includes briefing, courtroom appearances, and collaborating with colleagues on litigation strategy. He is part of a small team of attorneys who handle matters that cross state lines. The firm maintains offices where clients from different industries seek representation on a range of disputes.
Over time Williams has developed practical courtroom experience through repeated appearances in district courts and through work on cases that proceed beyond initial filings. He files motions, argues them, and prepares cases for trial when necessary. Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation. Clients have relied on him to manage procedural complexity and to guide filings in both California and Texas venues.
Outside of litigation, Williams maintains the kind of bar involvement that keeps him current on rule changes and local practice nuances. His memberships in the California and Texas bars and his federal admissions put him in regular contact with the procedural rules that govern civil litigation in those courts. He attends local bar events and participates in continuing legal education opportunities to stay informed about evolving practice requirements.
He balances courtroom work with client counseling and case management. He works on matters that require coordination between state and federal practice or that bring together legal issues across California and Texas. He currently practices at Van Wey, Metzler & Williams, handling matters in California and Texas state and federal courts.
