About Bradley B.

Bradley B. Wilson studied liberal arts at the University of Missouri–Columbia before earning his J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1996. He finished law school the same year he joined the Illinois State Bar Association, a sign of how quickly he moved from classroom to courtroom. His academic path combined a broad undergraduate education with a practical legal training that set the stage for practice in both state and federal courts.

Soon after law school, Wilson began working in private practice. He has been associated with Gates, Wise, Schlosser & Goebel, where he has handled a range of civil matters. His resume lists the firm as his primary office. Over the years he has tried to balance courtroom work and case preparation, spending time both in the office and in courtrooms across the state.

Wilson is admitted to practice in Illinois, and he holds admission to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit as well as the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in trial and on appeal in federal forums as well as in state court. He approaches each filing and hearing as a distinct task, whether arguing procedural points or presenting evidence to a judge.

Professional membership has played a steady role in his career. He has been a member of the Illinois State Bar Association since 1996. He joined the Sangamon County Bar Association and the American Bar Association in 1997. In 2001 he added membership in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and he continues those memberships. These affiliations have given him opportunities for continuing legal education and local professional engagement.

Colleagues describe Wilson as pragmatic. He focuses on the legal question at hand and on the practical steps needed to resolve it. He spends time drafting pleadings and preparing witnesses. He also handles pretrial motions and discovery disputes, work that often determines how cases unfold in court.

Outside of court, his practice involves advising clients on strategy and next steps. He represents individuals and entities in civil litigation, and he prepares cases for trial when settlement is not possible. He continues to maintain an active trial practice at Gates, Wise, Schlosser & Goebel, representing clients in both state and federal courts.

He currently practices civil litigation at Gates, Wise, Schlosser & Goebel, handling matters in state and federal court.
