About Bonnie Monique
Bonnie Monique Youn is a dedicated immigration attorney based in Atlanta, Georgia — She earned her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law in 1991. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in English & American Literature at Brown University in 1987. With over 30 years of legal experience, Youn has established herself as a prominent figure in the field of immigration law. Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1995, Youn expanded her practice by joining the Georgia Bar in 1996. Her legal career has been marked by significant milestones, including her role as a staff attorney for the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition to her work in appellate law, she founded her own law firm, which specializes in employment and family-based immigration law.
This firm has allowed her to directly assist clients with their immigration needs, handling the requirements of U.S. immigration policies. In 2016, Youn faced disciplinary action from the State Bar of Georgia. She pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge related to advising a client to obtain a Georgia driver's license under false pretenses. As a result, she was suspended from practicing law for 18 months. Her reinstatement in June 2018 came after she fulfilled all conditions set by the court — This lets the attorney resume her legal practice.
This period of adversity did not deter her commitment to immigration law; rather, it reinforced her dedication to ethical legal practices. Youn's involvement in professional associations shows her commitment to the legal community. She has served as Communications Chair for the Korean American Bar Association of Georgia (KABA-GA) and has held a position on its Board. Additionally, she is an active member of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association (GAPABA), where she also served as Communications Chair. Her leadership roles in these organizations highlight her dedication to advocating for the rights of immigrants and promoting diversity within the legal profession. Currently, Youn practices immigration law at The RMN Agency in Atlanta, Georgia.
She remains an active member of the State Bar of Georgia and retains her membership with the Massachusetts Bar, which is currently inactive. Recognized for her contributions to civic and service-related organizations, she received the Cesar Chavez Champions of Change award in 2013. Youn's ongoing engagement in professional associations and her unwavering dedication to her clients exemplify her commitment to making a meaningful impact in the field of immigration law.
