About Bill

Bill Frederick studied psychology at Creighton University, earning a B.A. in 2004. He moved on to Valparaiso University School of Law, where he completed a joint J.D./M.S.S.A. program in 2009. The combination of social science and law shaped an early interest in how institutions govern behavior and manage compliance.

After law school he spent a summer in the NCAA's National Office as part of the internship program in academic and membership affairs. The placement exposed him to regulatory work and the mechanics of large organizations. It was an early taste of legal work outside a courtroom and introduced him to rule-making and policy review at a national level.

In 2010 he joined the Marion County Prosecutor's Office as a deputy prosecutor. There he handled courtroom responsibilities and the day-to-day demands of public prosecution. That period of his career provided direct trial experience and regular contact with judges, defense counsel, and law enforcement. It also gave him a clear sense of how prosecutorial decisions affect court dockets and communities.

Frederick later moved into private practice. In 2019 he became a partner at Banks & Brower, LLC. As a partner he has been involved in case management, client counseling and litigation. Colleagues say his time in the prosecutor's office informs how he approaches evidence and witness preparation. His work at the firm involves matters brought in Indiana courts and draws on both his public-service background and his regulatory experience from the NCAA internship.

He has been a member of the Indiana State Bar Association since 2009 and remains active in the association. That long-standing membership has kept him connected to developments in state law and to other lawyers across Indiana. He maintains his license to practice in the state and handles matters that require familiarity with local rules and procedures.

The arc of his career moves from a psychology undergraduate degree through dual graduate degrees and into practical lawyering in both public and private roles. It is a path that mixes courtroom work, regulatory exposure and firm-based practice. He currently represents clients in matters before Indiana courts.
