About Berta
Berta Sasso built a steady legal path from the classroom to the courtroom. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago in 2015. She then completed her Juris Doctor at Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2020.
Her early years in practice combined research and hands-on courtroom work. In 2019 she served as a law clerk for Land of Lincoln, where she handled legal research and assisted in drafting briefs. That role helped sharpen her drafting and analytical skills under experienced litigators.
After graduating law school she joined HeplerBroom LLC as an associate lawyer in 2020. In that position she took on client matters, prepared motions, and participated in hearings. Two years later she moved to Spiros Law, P.C. as an associate, joining a team that handles complex caseloads across state lines.
Sasso is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Missouri. She has experience managing case files, preparing discovery, and supporting trial preparation. Colleagues describe her work as thorough and methodical. Clients have benefited from her steady courtroom presence and clear written work.
Her background in political science informs how she approaches cases. She pays close attention to procedural detail and to the factual record. That approach has informed her work at each stage of litigation, from initial pleadings to pretrial motion practice.
Outside of day-to-day litigation tasks she has been involved in firm-level case strategy and client counseling. She has worked on multi-jurisdictional matters that require coordination between Illinois and Missouri courts. That practical experience has deepened her understanding of state procedural differences and the timing of filings.
Sasso remains based at Spiros Law, P.C., where she continues to represent clients in state matters. She maintains her licenses in Illinois and Missouri and practices in both jurisdictions.
