Bert Arnold is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1986. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Arnold is a partner at Boxer+Gerson, LLP, a law firm specializing in workers' compensation cases, located in Oakland, California. He has been practicing law for over 40 years, serving clients throughout the state.
Mr. Arnold earned his Juris Doctor degree from San Francisco Law School, where he graduated in 1986. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. During his time at San Francisco Law School, he focused on courses related to workers' compensation and labor law, laying the foundation for his future practice.
Mr. Arnold concentrates his practice in the area of workers' compensation law. He represents individuals who have sustained injuries in the workplace, guiding them through the complexities of the workers' compensation system. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. He has been recognized by his peers in Northern California as a "Super Lawyer" in San Francisco Magazine multiple times and has been acknowledged as one of "America’s Most Honored Lawyers" by the American Registry.
Throughout his career, Mr. Arnold has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board on numerous occasions. Prior to joining Boxer+Gerson in 1999, he practiced as a criminal defense attorney, gaining experience in trial advocacy and courtroom procedures. He became a partner at Boxer+Gerson in 2005.
Mr. Arnold is an active member of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association (CAAA), having served as its president and legislative chair. He is also a former member of the State Bar Workers' Compensation Committee and currently serves on the board for Kids' Chance of California, a charity dedicated to providing scholarships for children whose parents have been seriously injured or killed in workplace accidents. He is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
