About Benjamin W

Benjamin W Scott took an unconventional path to the law. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Brigham Young University in 1996 and worked several years before returning to school. He earned his J.D. from Concord Law School in 2007 and entered the California legal community soon after.

Early in his career Scott built experience at several firms and by 2014 had become a partner at Barnett, Bennett, & Scott. That role placed him in firm leadership at a relatively young stage of his legal career. He spent the next several years handling the matters that crossed his desk and helping manage firm operations while continuing to develop his courtroom and transactional experience.

In 2019 he moved to Wells Call as a partner. The shift brought him into a larger firm environment with multiple California offices. At Wells Call he joined a group of attorneys who divide work across a network of locations. His name appears on the firm’s partner roster and he has continued practicing under California licensure.

Scott’s academic background in the sciences followed by a legal degree shapes how he approaches problems. Colleagues describe a methodical attention to detail and a preference for careful preparation. He balances that analytical approach with a practical view of how cases and transactions progress in the courts and in business settings. He has handled matters requiring both written advocacy and in-person proceedings.

Outside day-to-day caseloads Scott has taken on responsibilities that partners commonly shoulder: mentoring junior attorneys, contributing to firm strategy, and assisting with client development. He has experience managing teams on complex matters and coordinating work among attorneys in different offices. That experience is part of why he moved into and has remained in partnership roles.

He remains active in California, where he is licensed to practice. He works from Wells Call’s offices across the state and is listed as a partner at the firm. He continues to accept matters and represent clients through Wells Call in California, practicing from the firm’s multiple offices across the state.
