About Benjamin
Benjamin Shein earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981 and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1984. He moved from undergraduate studies into law school at a time when asbestos litigation was beginning to grow into a national legal issue. That era helped shape the kind of work he would pursue in practice.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He serves as a partner at Shein Law, where he has focused much of his career on civil litigation for individuals. His work has involved the procedural and factual complexities that often come with long-latency injury claims.
Shein’s professional affiliations underscore the direction of his practice. He is a sponsor of the Norm Kulig 2 Young 2 Go Foundation. He is a founding member of Asbestos Victims against Default and Delay, and he holds membership in Asbestos Victims of America. Those roles place him in networks that combine client advocacy with efforts to address systemic issues affecting claimants.
In court and at the negotiation table he handles the kinds of tasks common to asbestos and related personal injury litigation. He prepares pleadings, develops factual records, engages in discovery, and pursues settlements when that route serves a client’s interests. He also files suit in state and federal forums as needed to press claims.
Colleagues and clients describe a steady, workmanlike approach to complex cases. He has taken on matters that require coordination with experts and with other counsel across jurisdictions. That coordination is often necessary in multi-defendant litigation where exposure histories and corporate structures must be untangled.
At Shein Law he manages cases that arise in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He continues to participate in organizations that advocate for victims of asbestos exposure and to sponsor community-related efforts. He concentrates his practice on representing people harmed by asbestos and pursuing related claims in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
