About Benjamin Jeffrey

Benjamin Jeffrey Stoltman earned his undergraduate degree from Aquinas College, receiving a B.A. in 2012. He went on to study law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received his J.D. in 2019. Early academic work included time abroad, where he taught American law to students in France.

His career moved between teaching, public service and private practice. In 2016 he served as an American law lecturer at Université d'Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand. The following year he worked at the Genesee County Probate Court as a Judicial Advisory Assistant, a role that gave him direct exposure to court procedures and the administration of estates. By 2020 he had opened a private practice under his own name.

Those experiences shape how he approaches cases. Teaching law abroad required clear explanations of U.S. legal principles to non-native audiences. Working in the probate court allowed him to observe judges, clerks and attorneys handling real-time disputes and filings. In private practice he brought those lessons back to clients in Michigan. His background blends courtroom familiarity and an understanding of how to explain complex legal topics to laypeople.

Stoltman has remained active in professional circles. He is a member of the Genesee County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to peers and trends in state and national practice. He also maintains contacts from his time in academia and public service, which inform his case strategy and client communication.

At Stoltman Law, PLLC he manages a small practice that serves clients in Michigan. The office handles matters that arise in state courts and offers counsel on probate-related issues, drawing on his experience at the county probate court. His practice aims to provide grounded legal advice and to guide clients through procedural steps.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in the way he prepares filings and steady in court settings. Clients note a preference for practical explanations over legal jargon. He continues to live and work in Michigan, running Stoltman Law, PLLC and handling matters in state courts, including probate and related civil issues.
