About Benjamin B.
Benjamin B. Bentrup entered law after an academic career rooted in language and teaching. His path to the bar passed through two decades of study in Spanish and culminated in a law degree earned in the early 2010s. He brings that background into day-to-day practice.
He earned his J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law in 2013. Earlier, he completed an M.A. in Spanish at the University of Kentucky in 2000 and a B.A. in Spanish at Transylvania University in 1998. Those degrees reflect sustained academic work in language and literature prior to his legal studies.
Bentrup is admitted to practice in Indiana and Virginia. He has taken steps to maintain professional versatility outside the courtroom as well: he holds teaching licenses issued by the state authorities in Indiana, Virginia and Massachusetts. That combination of law and education credentials shapes how he approaches client matters and administrative proceedings.
He is a member of the Beers Mallers Backs & Salin team. At the firm he handles a range of matters that arise in the two states where he is licensed. His colleagues describe him as methodical in research and steady in court settings. He also brings formal legal research training to his work, holding a LexisNexis Professional Research Certification.
Bentrup’s academic training in Spanish informs his professional work. His university degrees attest to several years of concentrated study in the language, which can be an asset when matters involve Spanish-language documents or communications. His teaching credentials indicate practical experience working with educational institutions and regulatory frameworks outside of typical private-practice avenues.
His practice blends courtroom and administrative experience. He represents clients in state courts and appears before regulatory bodies as needed. He handles client intake, develops case strategy, and prepares filings and briefs, drawing on both his legal education and his research certification.
Outside of client work, he continues to maintain professional credentials that bridge education and law. That mix of qualifications positions him to address matters that intersect state agencies, schools and civil litigation. His current practice focuses on representing clients in legal and administrative matters in Indiana and Virginia.
