About Benjamin A.

Benjamin A. Korngut completed his legal education at Cardozo School of Law, earning a J.D. in 2007. He earlier studied finance at the University of Virginia, graduating with a B.S. in 2000. Those formative years combined business training and legal study, a background that has shaped his approach to client work.

He began his legal career as an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP after law school. The firm assignment put him on transactional matters and exposed him to structured finance and corporate documentation. Early litigation was not his primary path; instead he built experience drafting agreements and advising on deals.

In 2013 he served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Goldman Sachs & Co. That role placed him inside a large financial institution, where he handled internal legal matters, compliance issues and deal-related documentation. In the same year he also established the Law Offices of Benjamin Korngut, PLLC, signaling a move toward private practice and client counseling outside the corporate environment.

More recently he has been a member of Korngut Paleudis LLC. His practice has encompassed corporate and securities matters, transactional work and regulatory counseling for companies and individuals tied to financial markets. He has represented clients on contract negotiation, transactional structure, and routine regulatory questions. He combines experience from law firm practice and in-house work when advising clients.

Korngut balances the demands of transactions with practical risk assessment. He tends to break complex deals into concrete steps and aims to keep clients informed as matters progress. Colleagues describe an attention to detail and a preference for clear drafting over rhetorical flourishes. He has moved between large institutions and smaller practices, gaining perspective on how different organizations handle legal risk.

He currently practices at Korngut Paleudis LLC, focusing on corporate and securities matters, transactional documentation, and regulatory counseling.
