About Ben

Ben Snipes built his legal foundation at the University of Montana School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2008 after completing his studies that began in 2005. He moved quickly from classroom to courtroom, gaining admission to the Montana bar the same year he graduated. Over the next years he expanded his admissions to include the Ninth Circuit, securing the ability to handle federal appellate matters.

Early in his career Snipes joined Kovacich Snipes Johnson, P.C. He has served as a shareholder there since 2008. His role at the firm includes managing cases, working directly with clients and participating in the firm's trial work. Colleagues describe him as a steady presence in the office, one who handles both the courtroom calendar and the practical needs of clients.

Outside the firm Snipes has been active in the legal community. Since 2016 he has served on the Board of Directors for the Cascade County Law Clinic, Inc. Pro Bono Program. He also joined the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association's Montana Chapter in 2016 and continues in that position. Those roles reflect time spent on pro bono matters and on projects aimed at improving access to the federal courts for Montana practitioners and residents.

Snipes has maintained membership in the Montana State Bar and the Montana Trial Lawyers Association since 2008. These memberships keep him connected to developments in state law and to a network of trial attorneys across Montana. They also provide a forum for continuing legal education and collegial exchange among lawyers who handle trial and appellate work in the state.

He balances firm responsibilities with courtroom practice. Admitted to appear before the Ninth Circuit and active in Montana courts, Snipes handles matters that move from initial filings to motion practice and trial preparation. He spends time mentoring younger attorneys at his firm and participates in pro bono efforts through the Cascade County Law Clinic.

Today Snipes continues as a shareholder at Kovacich Snipes Johnson, P.C., where he concentrates on litigation in Montana state courts and on matters that proceed to the Ninth Circuit.
