About Ben

Ben Schwartz built his path through two well-known Texas schools before entering legal practice. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 and completed his J.D. at SMU Dedman School of Law in 2016. Those years in Austin and Dallas shaped his early legal outlook and set the stage for work in the Texas bar.

After law school, he moved into private practice in Texas. He is licensed to practice in the state and has practiced there since finishing his degree. His career has kept him close to the legal issues and communities of Texas. He joined Edgett Law Office, where he has taken on client matters and courtroom responsibilities consistent with the firm’s practice.

His time at SMU Dedman School of Law placed him in classrooms and clinics that emphasize practical skills alongside doctrinal study. That training includes research and writing, oral advocacy, and case analysis. He brings these skills to everyday client work, translating case law and procedure into decisions his clients can use. He approaches each matter by breaking down complex issues into manageable parts and communicating options clearly.

Schwartz’s undergraduate studies at the University of Texas offered a different kind of preparation. A B.S. degree provided a foundation in analytical thinking and project work. Those habits carried forward into law school and into practice. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and steady under pressure. That steadiness matters in depositions, negotiations, and court appearances alike.

At Edgett Law Office he shares responsibility for intake, case strategy, and client counseling. He takes the technical side of case law and pairs it with practical steps for moving a matter forward. He has handled matters that require attention to procedural detail and careful drafting of filings. Outside the office he keeps up with continuing legal education and state rules that shape practice in Texas.

Schwartz’s career is rooted in Texas education and practice. He continues to develop his courtroom and client counseling work at Edgett Law Office, handling matters arising under Texas law.
