About Babak

Babak Rafiei completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a B.A. in Political Science in 2011. He went on to Southwestern Law School, where he received his J.D. in 2014. Those years in Los Angeles shaped the legal foundation he carries into practice today. They also set a steady course from campus classrooms to courtroom doors.

After law school, Rafiei moved quickly into practice. In 2014 he became the founding lawyer at the Law Office of Robert Rafii. He established a small practice aimed at serving a diverse client base. Over time the office grew into a place where litigation, transactional work and client counseling meet practical concerns. He has been a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association since 2014 and remains active there.

Rafiei holds several professional credentials beyond his J.D. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist through ACAMS. He is commissioned as a Notary Public by the State of California. He also maintains a real estate salesperson license with the California Department of Real Estate. Those qualifications broaden the range of tasks he can perform for individual and business clients, from document authentication to regulatory review.

On the admissions front, Rafiei is authorized to practice in California and is admitted to the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect both trial and appellate credentials and allow him to represent clients at multiple levels of the federal judiciary.

Colleagues describe him as practical and steady in handling procedural challenges. He tends to break complex problems into concrete steps and prefers clear options over theoretical debates. That approach shows in routine filings and in negotiations where simple clarity often matters more than elaborate argument.

Today Rafiei continues to operate from the Law Office of Robert Rafii. He combines courtroom admissions, regulatory certification and a state real estate license to assist clients navigating litigation, transactional matters and compliance issues. He maintains an active solo practice and represents clients across matters that draw on his certifications and admissions.
