About Autumn

Autumn HajMohammad grew up in California and pursued an early interest in public affairs that led her to study public policy at California State University, Bakersfield. She earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. The combination of policy study and legal training shaped her approach to courtroom work and public defense early in her career.

After law school she entered practice in the Bay Area. She is admitted to the California bar and is active in local legal circles. Over the years she has taken on roles that place her in the center of trial work and public defense networks. Those roles include ongoing participation in the Alameda County Bar Association’s Trial Section and a seat on its Executive Committee.

Her professional memberships reflect the work she does. She is a member of the California Public Defenders Association and Women Defenders. She also belongs to the Women Lawyers of Alameda County, the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California. That list points to a practice shaped by criminal defense and trial practice, and by an interest in supporting women in defense roles.

Colleagues describe her as someone who prepares cases for court and who spends significant time in hearings and trials. She handles motions, conducts evidentiary work and presents arguments before judges and juries. Her trial experience has been supported by involvement in the Alameda County Bar Association’s Trial Section, where members regularly exchange strategies and practical tips that apply in county courts.

Beyond casework she takes part in bar and community activities. Serving on the Alameda County Bar Association Executive Committee places her in a position to influence trial-related programming and events. Her memberships in organizations for women lawyers and defenders show an ongoing engagement with issues that affect practitioners in public defense and criminal law.

She currently works out of an East Bay office and spends most of her time on matters arising in California courts. Her practice centers on criminal defense and public defense work, including trial litigation and court advocacy in Alameda County and the surrounding region.
