About Autumn D.

Autumn D. McCullogh graduated from National University with a B.A. and went on to earn her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. Her path through a liberal arts undergraduate program followed by professional legal training gave her a range of perspectives on the practice of law. She arrived at law school prepared to test ideas in courtrooms and classrooms alike, and she left with the credentials to begin a transregional practice.

After law school, McCullogh obtained the right to practice in both California and Virginia. She now works as an associate at McCandlish & Lillard P.C., where she joined colleagues who handle matters that span state lines. That dual-licensure has allowed her to work on files that require familiarity with distinct state rules and procedural norms.

As an associate, McCullogh spends much of her time researching, drafting, and preparing legal memoranda and court filings. Her day-to-day work involves close collaboration with more senior attorneys, attending depositions and hearings when matters require it, and helping manage the flow of complex information for clients. Colleagues describe her approach as detail-oriented and steady; she favors clear writing and careful preparation.

Her academic background at the University of San Diego School of Law included training in legal analysis and advocacy. Those skills carry over into her practice in both California and Virginia. She has navigated state-specific rules and adapted to different court environments, applying the foundational tools she developed in law school to client matters handled through her firm.

Outside of casework, McCullogh’s early career has involved continuing legal education and on-the-job training that many associates undertake. She has built practical courtroom and transactional habits by working alongside experienced counsel at McCandlish & Lillard P.C. The firm setting has given her exposure to a variety of assignments and the chance to refine procedural familiarity and litigation-support techniques.

Colleagues say she contributes to case strategy and helps maintain the steadiness of client communications during active matters. McCullogh’s practice bridges two jurisdictions and reflects the realities of litigation and legal work that reach beyond a single state. She is an associate based at McCandlish & Lillard P.C., practicing in both California and Virginia and handling matters carried by the firm.
