About Augustus
Augustus Corbett earned a B.S. in Chemistry from North Carolina A&T State University before turning to law at North Carolina Central University School of Law. That combination of scientific training and legal education has shaped the way he approaches problems. He is comfortable parsing technical detail and translating it into legal strategy.
After law school, Corbett began practicing law in Texas. Over time he established a practice that touches both state and federal matters. He is admitted to the bar in Texas and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Those admissions allow him to represent clients at multiple procedural levels and in a variety of forums.
His analytical background shows up in his work. Chemistry taught him to isolate variables and test assumptions. He applies a similar method to casework, breaking complex issues into component parts and examining the evidence closely. That approach informs how he prepares filings, manages discovery and presents arguments in court.
Corbett is an attorney at Corbett & Corbett LLP. At the firm he handles matters that arise in Texas courts and in the federal court for the Northern District of Texas. He regularly navigates procedural requirements that differ between state and federal systems and advises clients on how those differences affect timing, remedies and litigation strategy.
Colleagues describe him as methodical. He tends to emphasize careful preparation over showmanship. That practical approach is apparent in how he structures cases and communicates with clients. He aims to set clear expectations about process and likely outcomes. When litigation becomes technical or fact-intensive, his science background often proves useful during fact development and expert witness work.
Outside of courtroom and case preparation, Corbett maintains connections to the legal community in Texas. He keeps abreast of changes in rules and procedure that affect practice at both the state and federal level. He also works to keep clients informed about how shifting legal standards might affect their matters.
He currently practices at Corbett & Corbett LLP, representing clients in Texas courts and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
