About Audrey
Audrey Hatcher came to law from a Texas classroom. She completed undergraduate studies at Texas Christian University and went on to earn her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law. Those years shaped her approach to legal work: methodical, fact-driven and attentive to procedure.
After law school she entered private practice and joined Varghese Summersett PLLC as an associate in 2022. The move put her in a firm environment that handles litigation and client advocacy across the state. As an associate, she has handled matters that require close legal research, drafting of court filings and coordination with clients and colleagues. She learned to balance office deadlines with the unpredictable pace of litigation.
Hatcher is licensed to practice in Texas. That jurisdiction has been the base of her professional life since she began at the firm. Working within Texas courts and rules has informed her day-to-day practice. She has navigated procedural deadlines, prepared materials for hearings and supported trial teams when cases have moved toward trial.
Colleagues describe her workstyle as deliberate. She aims for clarity in written work and practical solutions in client conversations. That approach echoes her training at SMU Dedman, where rigorous case analysis is emphasized, and at TCU, where classroom debate and teamwork are often part of the curriculum. Those elements appear in how she prepares work for senior lawyers and in the way she organizes case files.
Her time at Varghese Summersett has also meant early exposure to varied caseloads. Associates at firms of this size frequently move between different stages of cases, from initial investigation to discovery and motion practice. Hatcher has taken on tasks across that arc, contributing to motions, client memos and trial preparation when needed. The position has offered a chance to learn litigation fundamentals under the supervision of more senior attorneys.
Outside of the office she maintains professional memberships and remains engaged with developments in Texas law. That attention to ongoing legal change helps her adapt to shifting rules and new precedents. She keeps up with court decisions and practice updates that affect clients in the state.
She currently practices at Varghese Summersett PLLC, representing clients in legal matters across Texas.
