About Ashley
Ashley Wilburn is an attorney licensed in both Connecticut and Maryland. She built her career through a mix of judicial clerkships and private practice. Over the last decade she has moved from court chambers to courtrooms and then into firm leadership.
Wilburn earned her J.D. from Western New England College in 2013 after completing a B.A. at Loyola College in 2010. Her legal education was followed immediately by work in appellate and trial courts. Those early years shaped her understanding of procedure and legal writing.
Her first positions after law school were judicial. In 2013 she served as a law clerk at the Connecticut Appellate Court. The following year she clerked for the Circuit Court for Washington County. Those roles exposed her to a range of family and civil matters and to judges’ decision-making processes.
In 2015 Wilburn entered private practice as an associate at Poole and Kane, P.A. Two years later she became a partner at Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., a role she held beginning in 2017. In 2023 she took on a partner role at Wilburn Law Office, LLC. The progression reflects a steady shift from support roles to leadership within small law firms.
Wilburn’s memberships reflect her work in family and juvenile law and in mediation. She has belonged to the Maryland State Bar Association’s Family and Juvenile Law Section since 2015. She joined the Maryland Program for Mediator Excellence in 2016 and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts’ Maryland chapter in 2017. She is also a member of the Washington County Bar Foundation, a relationship that dates back to 2014. These affiliations suggest regular engagement with peers on mediation standards and family-law practice issues.
Colleagues describe her courtroom experience and her time as a clerk as informing her approach to case preparation and dispute resolution. She has handled matters at both the trial and appellate levels and has experience in mediation settings through her program membership.
As of 2026 Wilburn continues her work at Wilburn Law Office, LLC. She practices in Connecticut and Maryland and maintains involvement in bar and mediation organizations. Her current practice focuses on family law and mediation in those jurisdictions.
