About Arpita
Arpita Legha pursued a steady course through finance and law before settling into tax practice. She earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2010, completed a J.D. at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2013, and followed that with an LL.M. in Tax Law from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2014. Those credentials provided a clear foundation for work at the intersection of business and tax.
Her early legal years combined courtroom observation, academic research and private practice exposure. While still a student she served as a research assistant at Texas Southern University and held multiple internships, including a judicial internship for Judge Josefina Rendon in the 165th Civil Court of Harris County and a research internship at Selvera, Ibarra, Ocampo. She spent a summer as an associate at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP in 2012 and interned with Dinesh Singhal in 2008. After completing her LL.M., she joined PwC’s International Tax Services as a senior associate in 2014, where she worked on international tax matters for corporate clients.
Legha moved into private practice in 2017 as a lawyer at Bowen Law Office, PLLC. Two years later she became a partner at Oxner Legha, PLLC. The shift from a large accounting firm team to smaller law office roles gave her hands-on experience on both client-facing planning work and transaction support. The experience at PwC, combined with a law degree and specialized tax training, shaped the contours of her practice.
Her professional affiliations include membership with the Consulate General of India in Houston and pro-bono consulting for Daya, Inc. Those roles reflect an interest in community engagement alongside regular legal work. She is admitted to practice in Texas and has worked on matters that draw on her finance background and tax training.
Colleagues describe her practice as grounded in practical problem solving rather than theory. She handles tax-related questions for individuals and businesses and supports broader corporate and transactional matters that raise tax implications. Her background in international tax at a major accounting firm informs how she approaches cross-border issues and tax compliance.
Legha currently practices from Oxner Legha, PLLC, where she handles tax law and related business matters in Texas.
