About Antonio
Antonio Calabrese began his academic journey at the University of Virginia, where he earned a B.A. in Psychology in 1983. He stayed in Virginia for law school and received his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1986. Those years set the stage for a long legal career based in the commonwealth.
After law school, Calabrese entered private practice in Virginia. Over time he took on increasing responsibility at his firm and now holds the title of partner at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. He has practiced in the state for decades and built a practice grounded in the region’s legal and business communities.
Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in the ways he approaches matters. He is known for clear writing and for explaining complex points in straightforward terms. He brings the kind of legal judgment that often comes from years spent handling a variety of client needs rather than from narrow specialization.
Calabrese’s background in psychology and law gives him dual perspectives on cases and client interactions. That combination can shape how he evaluates evidence, prepares witnesses and structures arguments. He has counselled clients through negotiations and courtroom appearances, drawing on both academic training and hands-on experience.
Professional life for Calabrese includes work inside the firm and engagements outside it. He has been listed as an active member of professional associations, and he maintains ties to the local legal community in and around Reston. His time at the firm has included supervising junior lawyers and managing client relationships across matters that arise in Virginia.
Outside the office he has remained tied to the region where he trained and built his practice. He lives and works in the area and keeps a practice that serves businesses and individuals in the state. The through-line of his career is steady service to clients and long-term involvement in Virginia’s legal scene.
He currently practices law from the firm’s Reston office, representing clients in Virginia.
