About Anthony W.

Anthony W. Chauncey combines formal training in accounting and banking with a later legal education. He earned a J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2009. Earlier, he completed two Bachelor of Business Administration degrees at the University of North Florida: accounting in 1989 and banking and finance in 1993. Those complementary academic paths shaped the practical orientation of his legal work.

He began practicing law in 2009. His early roles included time at The Decker Law Office, P.A., where he worked as an attorney. That same year he became a partner at The Chauncey Law Office, P.A. The transition from associate-level practice to partnership happened quickly, and he has remained associated with his own firm since then.

Chauncey is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is also an active member of national and state professional groups. Since 2010 he has held memberships in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also belongs to the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, joining in 2010.

Those memberships reflect the kinds of matters he handles. His work spans criminal defense and consumer bankruptcy. He represents individuals facing criminal charges and people seeking relief through the bankruptcy system. His background in accounting and banking informs how he evaluates financial records and advises clients about debts, assets, and case strategy. Colleagues and clients see a practitioner who applies accounting concepts to legal problem solving rather than treating financial evidence as abstract data.

Courtroom work and transactional tasks both appear in his practice. He has filed bankruptcy petitions, negotiated with creditors, and defended clients in state criminal proceedings. He also handles appeals before the Eleventh Circuit when matters advance to that level. The combination of trial experience and financial literacy shapes the services his office provides.

Today Chauncey serves as a partner at The Chauncey Law Office, P.A. His practice continues to involve criminal defense and consumer bankruptcy matters. He represents clients in Florida courts and in federal appeals within the Eleventh Circuit, and his current practice focuses on criminal defense and consumer bankruptcy work.
