About Anthony
Anthony Sammarco built his legal foundation at DePaul University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1979. He stayed at DePaul for law school and received his J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 1982. Those years anchored a career that has been rooted in Illinois courts and county bar work.
After law school, Sammarco began participating in local bar organizations. He has held memberships in both the Will County and DuPage County bar associations since 1982, and he remains active in county bar affairs today. His county-level work includes participation on the DuPage County Bar Association’s Matrimonial Law Committee.
Sammarco’s involvement extends to the Illinois State Bar Association, where he served in several section counsel roles. He was on the Section Counsel on Judicial Evaluations for 2006–2007, served as Family Law Section Counsel in 2014–2015, and took on a role as ARDC Section Counsel in 2015–2016. Those positions placed him in the middle of professional conversations about judicial performance and family law practice standards in Illinois.
He is admitted to practice in Illinois and in the U.S. District Court. That admission has supported a practice that often intersects county family dockets and federal procedural requirements when necessary.
In 1993 Sammarco joined The Stogsdill Law Office, P.C. as a lawyer. He has remained with that firm since then. His tenure there has been sustained, and his work has been shaped by the rhythms of family law practice and the obligations of local bar service.
Colleagues and court observers recognize him for steady participation in committee work and bar governance. He has combined courtroom practice with time spent advising peers through ISBA section counsel roles. Those contributions are reflected in a long record of membership and occasional leadership on bar committees.
Sammarco’s practice is concentrated in matrimonial and family law matters. He handles divorce, child-related issues, and other family-law disputes that arise in county courts. He also maintains the procedural knowledge required to present matters in federal court when cases raise such issues.
He currently practices at The Stogsdill Law Office, P.C., where he handles matrimonial and family law matters.
