About Anthony

Anthony Kozycki took an unconventional route to the law. He began at the United States Naval Academy, earning a B.S. in economics in 2008. He moved straight into naval aviation, completing Naval Flight Officer training and receiving his Naval Aviation Wings by 2010. Early assignments put him in the cockpit of F/A-18F Super Hornets and into leadership roles as a mission commander with Strike Fighter Squadron 41.

His military career included a posting overseas. In 2014 he served as a U.S. naval advisor to the Royal Australian Air Force’s 1 Squadron. The operational tempo and leadership demands of those years left him comfortable making quick, high-stakes decisions.

A transition to law began in the late 2010s. Kozycki enrolled at Georgia State University College of Law and earned his J.D. in 2021. While in law school he completed a Certificate in Advocacy, adding courtroom training to a resume that already included command experience. Even before finishing his degree, he had practical law-office experience; he served as firm administrator at Kozycki Law, LLC in 2017 and later took on legal internships that broadened his exposure to criminal and government litigation.

Those internships read like a cross-section of public interest and government work. In 2019 he spent time in the litigation division of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Chief Counsel, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That same year he was a capital defender intern at the Georgia Public Defender Council’s Office of the Capital Defender. In 2021 he worked as a legal intern in the DeKalb County Public Defender’s Office. Each placement put him in courtrooms and case teams, and each added to his practical grasp of trial preparation and courtroom procedure.

Today he is a partner at Kozycki Law, LLC. He maintains membership in the State Bar of Georgia and in the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and he is licensed to practice in Georgia. His background blends military command and aviation operations with hands-on experience in public defense and government litigation.

Clients and colleagues describe a practitioner who brings a methodical approach to casework and an emphasis on preparation. His practice draws on skills honed in both services and courtrooms: planning, risk assessment, and an appetite for contested hearings. He currently practices at Kozycki Law, LLC in Georgia, handling criminal defense matters and work informed by his government litigation experience.
