About Anthony G.
Anthony G. Gorski built a legal life from two threads: formal training in environmental law and a steady progression through public service and private practice. He earned a J.D. and a Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School, both conferred in 1990. Earlier, he completed a B.S. at Frostburg State University in 1986, studying wildlife and fisheries management alongside biology and chemistry. The combination of science and law has informed much of his work.
He began his legal career in Maryland courts. In 1990 he served as a judicial law clerk for the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. The following year he joined the Maryland Office of the Attorney General as an assistant attorney general, a role that exposed him to state regulatory and administrative matters and to courtroom practice on behalf of the state.
Teaching and private practice followed. He took on adjunct faculty roles in the 1990s, first at Stevenson University (then Villa Julie College) in 1993 and later at Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering in 1996. Those appointments reflected an interest in bridging technical subject matter and legal education. In 1997 he became a founding partner of Schaller & Gorski, LLP. He founded another firm, Gorski & Associates, LLC, in 2007 and later joined Rich & Henderson, P.C. as a partner in 2009. Since 2019 he has served as principal of his own practice.
Gorski is licensed to appear in Maryland courts and holds admissions to several federal venues, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for Maryland, and the Federal Circuit. That range of admissions has allowed him to pursue matters in both state and federal forums. His background in environmental law and the natural sciences has informed cases and client work that involve regulatory questions, permitting, and technical evidence.
Colleagues and students describe him as methodical and practical in approach. He has moved between public and private roles and between litigation and teaching. That variety has shaped a practice that draws on courtroom experience, administrative knowledge, and technical understanding. He is principal of The Law Office of Anthony G. Gorski LLC, where his current practice focuses on environmental and regulatory matters and litigation in Maryland and federal courts.
