Anthony Claiborne is a seasoned intellectual property attorney based in Bellevue, Washington. He has been practicing law for over 35 years, specializing in patents, trademarks, copyrights, and licensing. He is the managing attorney at Claiborne Patent Law Services, a firm he founded in 2003. Mr. Claiborne earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1989. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of New Mexico in 1973.
He is admitted to practice in Washington, Colorado, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 2002, the Colorado State Bar since 1989, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit since 1997. Before establishing his own practice, Mr. Claiborne held several significant positions — From 2001 to 2003, he served as Director of Technology Licensing at the University of Washington. Prior to that, he was Senior Intellectual Property Counsel at InfoSpace, Inc.
from 2000 to 2001, and Intellectual Property Counsel at Gateway, Inc. from 1998 to 2000. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Claiborne has been active in the legal community. He is a member of the New Mexico State Bar, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Claiborne's experience and dedication to intellectual property law have made him a respected figure in the field.
