About Anthony A. Ciaccio
Anthony A. Ciaccio Sr. began a professional life that moves from military service to the courtroom. He served as a United States Marine in 1992, then turned to higher education, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Dowling College before taking up law at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he received his J.D. in 2003. Those experiences shaped a practical approach to legal work and introduced him to the demands of trial practice.
His first legal post came in the public sector. In 2003 he joined the Nassau County District Attorney’s office as an assistant district attorney. That role placed him in court rooms early in his career, handling prosecutions and gaining hands-on trial experience. After several years in public service he moved into the private sector and into defense-side practice.
In 2006 he worked as a trial lawyer for GEICO, where he handled insurance-related litigation. The position required managing clients’ expectations, preparing cases for trial and trying matters in state courts across New York. He later joined the firm Gruenberg, Kelly Della in 2012 as a trial lawyer, further expanding his courtroom resume and sharpening litigation strategy and case management skills.
In 2013 he became a partner at Schalk, Ciaccio & Kahn, P.C. That step formalized his role as a senior trial lawyer and involved taking on greater responsibilities in firm leadership and client development. Over time he has balanced case work with supervising associates, preparing complex litigation for trial, and appearing in court on behalf of clients.
He is admitted to practice in New York and maintains membership in the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. His peers would recognize the steady progression from prosecutor to corporate defense counsel to partner at a regional firm. He has applied courtroom experience and institutional knowledge to both individual cases and broader litigation strategy.
Today he is based at Schalk, Ciaccio & Kahn, P.C., where he continues to try cases and manage litigation matters. His current practice centers on trial work in New York courts.
